Exciting news and much needed update!

Okay I realize it is February now and Valentines day is almost here, and I haven't posted anything about what we have been up to since before Thanksgiving. So here goes.....wow there really is a lot to catch up with. The biggest reason I haven't posted anything is because for the past few months I have been really sick. Yes I am pregnant again! We are so excited! And Zaya can't wait to have a new little brother or sister.

Pregnancy
I was really hoping that this time around would be easier and that I wouldn't get too sick like I did with Isaiah. I guess all that hoping and wishing didn't get me too far, because I was probably just about as sick with this one as the previous pregnancy. The only difference was I started to get really sick like a week later (7 weeks). Also I only threw up about 2 times a day instead of 3-4, also I was able to keep things down a lot better so instead of losing 10 lbs the first trimester I stayed about the same. All in all it was still awful and I am really surprised we are all still alive. I am not sure we would have made it through all of this had our families not been such a huge help. It made such a big difference having them here to help out. (My family was here for about 4 days during Christmas and Casey's parents came to help for 1 1/2 weeks about three weeks ago.) I don't think we would have made it without them. Thanks again so much you guys. I don't know if you realize how much you really helped. I am finally starting to feel much better, but haven't quite made it to my goal of one week without throwing up. I am hoping I will make it this week. I think if I can get past one week I will be in the clear. Oh and next time I am planning to get medicine right away if I start feeling sick! I don't care if it costs me all my money, I will do it if it helps! Okay enough of my thoughts on how I really do hate the first trimester of pregnancy. Although it has been a rough few months we really are excited to have a new little one on the way and can't wait to find out what we are having. I am due July 23rd and am about 15 1/2 weeks along right now. So it shouldn't be too much longer before we find out what we are having. I will be going in in a few days for another appointment and then they will schedule my ultrasound sometime after that. We haven't thought of any names yet. I think it will be a little easier once we can just narrow it down to a girl or boy.

Some cute/funny things Isaiah has learned to say lately: "Mama's sick" "Mama's sleeping." "Mama's tired." "Mama's gonna have-a baby!" "Baby in there (He will point to my belly and say this)." I think after me being sick for so long he doesn't remember what it is like for me to be "myself". The other day I wasn't showing him any signs of being sick, tired, or sleepy and he just said, "mama's sick." I told him that mama is getting better and that I am not sick anymore. He is too funny. He really is talking up a storm now and I have heard him say up to 5 words in a sentence. He loves talking and always tells us what is on his mind. Oh he also knows how to count from 1-10. I have heard him do it several times perfectly, but sometimes he still says it out of order. He can also recognize every letter in the alphabet and can sing the song almost all the way through by himself. He does need a little help here and there though. He is just growing up so fast and getting so smart. I guess it is a good thing there is another baby on the way. :) Oh two other things I remember him doing or saying that just cracked me up that I have to post before I forget. About two weeks ago or so I was making some eggs for breakfast and Isaiah always wants to see what I am doing when i am cooking in the kitchen. So I decided to stand him on the chair so he could watch me. So I had the carton of eggs sitting out on the counter and I started cracking an egg into the bowl. The next thing I knew Zaya had grabbed an egg out of the carton and was lightly banging in on the counter. (He was trying to crack it open, just like he had just seen me do. ) I just started laughing because it was so funny. Luckily I still needed that egg and he didn't break it all the way open,  he just got it started for me. I took him down off of the chair after that so he wouldn't try to crack open the whole carton of eggs. Anyway I just thought it was so cute how he was trying to help me and what a little copy cat he is. :) I guess that is how they learn.

Okay the other funny story is a few days ago Casey needed to run to his office at night to grab a few things that he needed that he had left there. So we all decided to go for a little drive. His office is located kind of by the Vegas strip. So on our way back from leaving the office Isaiah saw all of the lights from the strip and he started saying "nights, nights!" He can't say his L's very well so he says it like that instead of lights. He was so excited in his car seat and then he said, "Christmas Ti-i-i-i-me!" I wish I had a recording of this it was so hilarious how excited he was. He kept saying it over and over and the funny thing was he kept saying time so exaggerated saying the I like a little stutter. It is kinda hard to explain exactly how it sounded but it was so funny! I guess he was just really excited for Christmas time and all those lights on the strip reminded him of Christmas Lights! Too funny.

Okay this post is starting to get really long and since I don't have any pictures on this computer I will have to update you on our holidays at another time. Stay posted. I am not really sure how many pictures we got of Christmas and Thanksgiving, but I know we got a few. Hope you are all doing well. Come back soon to see some pictures and more updates.

18 Months old and 1st Haircut

My little boy isn't so little anymore. Isaiah is 18 moths old today! I can't believe how much he has been learning these past few weeks and months. I gave him his first haircut this morning. His hair was starting to get long. I didn't want to cut it before, because it is so thin I was afraid he would look bald again after I cut it. I think it turned out pretty cute. I still can't believe this is his first hair cut! It was easier than I thought. Isaiah did really well and didn't wiggle around too much. He wasn't afraid of the clippers either.

Since Isaiah is 18 months old now I wanted to write a little about him and what he likes to do at this age. Although he is now old enough to go to nursery, he doesn't like it because he misses his mommy. I am going to see if I can go in with him for the first hour until he gets used to it. It is hard because I have a primary class, so I can't be in there with him. He is a HUGE momma's boy! For the most part I like this and the fact that he is more snugly now, but sometimes it would be nice if I could leave him for a little while without him constantly wondering where I am.

Another thing that Isaiah loves right now is daddy's little fishing pole. Casey lost the top half of one of his fishing poles, so he gave the leftover piece to Isaiah to have as his fishing pole. He took the real and everything off, so is basically just a short fishing pole stick just his size. He loves to carry it around the house and says, "fishin'." On Saturday we asked Isaiah if he wanted to go fishing and he got really excited and said, "ALRIGHT!" I wish we would have had time to take him, maybe this weekend. He is already so much like his dad. :)

He also loves to brush his teeth, comb his hair, put on makeup, put on necklaces and bracelets, and anything else momma does. He also is starting to be a good little helper and likes to help me sort (and unsort) the laundry. He likes to help me throw things in the garbage. And he also likes to help me cook. He says, "Garbeeg" "Cookin" and "Laundy Basket". He says lots of other new words too. Yesterday I taught him our names. He says Davis really good. Casey and Rachel he can say, but not as well as Davis. He is my sweet little boy and I love him soooo much. He is at such a fun stage and I wish he would quit growing up so fast so I could enjoy him even longer. Oh and one other funny thing I just thought of. Since we got back from visiting our Grandparents in CA last week he has been calling everyone he sees that is older a grandma or grandpa. It is so funny. I think he met so many new Great Grandparents that he got confused and thinks that everyone is his grandma and grandpa now. :)
Before Haircut. It doesn't look very long when it is flat against his head.

You can see it is hanging over his ears a little. It is usually worse than this.

It was really long in the back and when it gets static electricity, it looks so hilarious

More long hair

His new look

This is how much hair I cut off.

It really wasn't a lot, but made a big difference.

Smiling so big you can see the crackers in his mouth :)

Those crackers are making his teeth look yellow. :)  Cute typical cheesy smile though.

Lots Better without the crackers.

My favorite smile! Zaya 18 months old!

Trip to California

The first weekend in November we were able to take a nice little trip over to California to visit Casey's grandparents. We had a lot of fun. We were able to stay with Grandma and Grandpa Parsons on the ranch. We went for a ride in Grandpa's jeep (Isaiah loved driving). :) We saw a few tarantulas and some deer, but no bears or mountain lions. Casey had fun helping grandpa and fishing in his ponds. He didn't catch anything, but he still had fun fishing while Isaiah and I played. Isaiah also really loved Gunner and Stubby, grandpa's two dogs. He is still asking about them. He says,  "Gunner, Stubby...is he?" Like were are they mom? So I tell him that they are at Grandpa's house. Now he is starting to call his little stuffed animal puppy Gunner. :) Isaiah also loved Grandma's little wooden rocking chair that was just his size! We were also able to visit Grandma and Grandpa Davis and go out to dinner with them. I wish we would have got some pictures with them too. Oh well. We also took a short little trip down to Moro Bay Beach. Zaya absolutely loved stomping around on the wet sand, looking for sea shells, and being able to just roam wherever he wanted to. He had a blast. We found a few sand dollars that were whole! It was fun looking for those! Then we went and got fish and chips and clam chowder. It was so delicious. It was a nice little getaway and it was fun to be able to see everyone again. It also helped us get geared up for our even longer drive that we will be making for Thanksgiving.

My happy boys. We had to play games with Zaya to get him back to the car! He would have stayed there forever had we let him.

Halloween

This year for Halloween I thought it would be fun to try and make a costume for Isaiah. It was a lot of fun and turned out pretty cute, or at least I thought so. It was a lot more cute in person watching him waddle around in it. :)
I realized that Halloween was on Sunday this year and was wondering if there was even going to be an occasion for Isaiah to wear his costume. Luckily the ward had a trunk or treat so we decorated our trunk and put on our costumes and went to trick or treat in the church parking lot. :) We had a lot of fun trying to decide how to decorate our trunk and I think our trunk turned out really awesome. If they would have been giving out prizes I think we would have one first place. It was really disappointing when we showed up and not too many other adults were dressed up with their little kids. Also there were a lot of people who didn't even dress up or decorate their trunks. So maybe we went a little overboard, but we had a lot of fun in the process. Oh well. Live and learn I guess. We have never been trunk or treating before, so I guess we aren't really to blame. I just wish people would be a little more festive sometimes though.
I know none of our costumes really go together, Isaiah was a giraffe. I was a black cat, and Casey was Nacho Libre (sort of.) Once he saw that hardly anyone else had on costumes he took off his mask. So I didn't get any pictures of him in his costume. I'm just glad all our costumes were really cheap, so it didn't really matter much. :)
I was really amazed at how well Isaiah did wearing his costume. I thought for sure he would be ripping the horns and ears off of his head, but he kept them on the whole time. Prior to Halloween I had been letting him wear the head band...trying to get him used to it. I would tell him that he looked cute! Then he would run over to the mirror and say cute. I guess it must have worked because he just loved waddling around in his costume all night long. I was also really surprised at how much he actually liked the trick or treating. I didn't think he would really get into it that much since he is so young, but he loved holding his bucket and going around getting "snacks" and "treats." I gave him a few pieces of candy throughout the night and he would say "mmmmm." I guess I was wrong to think that he was too young to enjoy Halloween because he sure had a lot of fun. We even got him to say "Haween". I wish we would have gotten a video of it all. Enjoy the pictures.

Isaiah ready to go trick or treating!

He couldn't wait to get out the door.

Waiting for all the fun to start.

Daddy somewhat in his costume.

I think he was searching for the jungle. :)

Happy Halloween!

Our scary trunk!

We had a tombstone that said "RIP Mr. Bones" and "This man died in this car"

Zaya taking a break from trick or treating. We put him in the stroller because he likes it and wouldn't run off. :)

Another scary view of our trunk.
